Who May Apply For a Marriage Certificate?

Marriage certificates may be released to:

1. either party to the marriage;
2. a person who has written authorization from either party to the marriage

Types of Marriage Certificates

Small Certificate

• Contains the names of each party, date, place, registration date, and registration number.

Large Certificate

• Contains the names of each party, date, place, registration date, registration number, birthdates and places of birth.

Fees

All delivery times quoted are average delivery times, and cannot be guaranteed. All Marriage Certificates are sent directly from the Office of the Registrar General.

• Regular Service - 15 - 20 business days average processing and mailing time - $80.00 each (includes all taxes and mailing costs)
• Rush Service - 5 - 8 business days average processing plus courier time - $35.00 additional courier cost (includes multiple certificates)

Rush service is not available for delivery outside of Canada.
